National Day Apple Pie

Happy National Day!

This long weekend calls for some baking, despite the mounds of homework next week sigh.

This pie is specially designed with the Singapore flag! So cute right? To make the crescent moon, I traced out the pie dish onto piece of paper, drew a min and cut it out, and used it as a guide to cut out the moon on my pie dough. For the stars, I simply used a cookie cutter and placed it on the pie.

Remember to give the pie a good egg wash to get those golden brown edges! One thing I haven't mastered is to get an even browning on my pies hmm hmm anyone has any ideas?

I managed to squeeze out 4 mini lattice topped pies to bake in my muffin pan to give away! I still had some pie dough leftover, which I freezed for later use!

This apple pie recipe is available on my blog. I have used this to make apple pie countless times and it has never failed me, hope you try it out :)
